The Southern California Center for Jewish Life is designed by award-winning architect Hagy Belzberg.
Hagy Belzberg received his Masters of Architecture Degree with distinction from Harvard University in 1991, and began his private practice upon receiving his license in 1997.
In January of 2001, he was elected as Director to the American Institute of Architects: LA Chapter, where he served two terms.
Currently, Belzberg Architects is a staff of twelve working collaboratively to carry out the philosophy of the firm.
Professorship & Lectures
During the last 11 years, Hagy Belzberg has served as a director of the American Institute of Architects, Los Angeles, and has held Graduate Level Instructorships at UCLA and the Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI-arc).
Awards
Prior to Belzberg Architects being honored this year as an Architectural League of New York’s Emerging Voice, Hagy had received the Emerging Talent Award from the California Council of the American Institute of Architects. His firm has received several Distinguished Building and Honor Design Awards from the A.I.A. as well as the Urban Land Institute Award, Next LA Awards, Urban Beautification Awards from the Los Angeles Business Council, American Architecture Awards from the Chicago Athenaeum and Design Honor Awards from the Society of American Registered Architects.
